What Curriculum Do You Use?
What curriculum do you use in your nursery and preschool departments?
Our curriculum is called First Look. It uses several key strategies:
Teach less for more: Repeats one key truth (Bottom Line) all month long
Engage the five senses: Helps master the concept through creative activities
Teach with the end in mind: Helps a child by age five, to believe:
1. God made me
2. God loves me.
3. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Experience worship: Encourages children to talk to God any time, any place
Connect at home: Provides parents with ideas for conversation with their child at home
What Curriculum do you use in your Elementary service?
Our weekend curriculum is called 252Basics. It is built around three Basic Truths every child should embrace according to what Jesus modeled in Luke 2:52.
* I need to make the wise choice.
* I can trust God no matter what.
* I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
The Three Basic Truths are amplified through 36 monthly virtues (such as kindness, generosity and faith) and 150 Bible stories. Every week there is a key TRUTH or bottom line that we drive home. It’s the ONE THING we want kids to understand and grab onto during their hour at Beach House.
Virtues are biblical characteristics that reflect God’s/Jesus’ character, or an appropriate response from us toward God, that He desires for us to emulate.
